Could you help understand Hitman 2's gameplay/stealth mechanics please?

    Posted: 16 Jan 2020 03:31 PM PST

So I've played a bit of Hitman 2016, finally got to play Hitman 2 but I play with lots of the HUD removed to fully immerse myself, so it can be a bit tough though very enjoyable. There are a few things I don't get.

    1. What happens when a camera sees me? Can I completely negate the spotted status if I destroy evidence/disable cameras? This sub says yes.

    2. How come some NPCs from same disguise as mine can notice me and others don't?

    3. Can I not pass under a camera if I'm disguised? I was in a disguise allowed for an area, had a keycard for said area, and camera still picked up trespassing, what happened?

    4. What happens when I trespass? Am I therefor spotted and cannot gain the score bonuses at the mission end score?

    5. What is the nuance between seen trespassing and trespassing without being seen, gameplay and end result wise? It seems I can trespass, be escorted out or move away, and still retain my normal status?

    6. In terms of gameplay, what do I need to do and not do to have the full score bonus at the end of a mission? (I do not care about time bonus whatsoever.)

    7. What happens when someone notices me? I seem to have some time to kill the person in order to not make him contact anybody else. If I kill him, does my score revert back to not spotted?

    8. I once was unable to subdue someone (I had subdued someone behind him, not noticed), I had to wait for him to turn and kick him, and so he of course noticed. Why? Was he stuck in a routine where I couldn't subdue, is that even a thing (sicario sec, colored shirt, in the cave, looking at a wall)?

    9. Is there any resource/documentation exploring and explaining Hitman 2 stealth? I cannot find anything proper and extensive. But I really want to play this game. Though some things really get over me.

Please if someone already answered something, don't hesitate to give your input as well.

I found this, which helps a bit:

    • No noticed kills: No one saw any murder happen. Targets can spot you when you kill them, but if they've alerted a guard before you've killed them, then you've failed this requirement.
    • Only kill targets: No non-target casualties. Non-target civilians and guards cannot be killed in any way.
    • No evidence: You were not spotted/recorded by a camera. If you had been recorded by one, you had deleted the evidence.
    • No bodies found: No dead or unconscious bodies were found. Dead bodies from accident and poison kills could be spotted.

EDIT: So I found this, which makes me think I need the map and NPC Icons to understand who I should and shouldn't pass by, also would make me understand which area I'm trespassing in. Also fuck to the downvoter, I just need answers to enjoy a bit of a game, downvoting limits my visibility, so thank you for that.

EDIT2 Thanks to everyone, very valuable info, I think I'm grasping more the gameplay, I'll try to find a balance with the HUD while still not feeling too helped.

What should I know about the next elusive target

    Posted: 16 Jan 2020 06:34 AM PST

Long time Hitman fan, but I'm new to the concept of elusive targets. I've read several FAQs about it, but there's still some things I don't fully understand. For example:

If I don't kill the target, result killed or complete some partial objective, can I quit the mission and restart it the following day? do I always have to finish it in one sitting? (without resorting to cutting internet tricks)

Do the Elusive Target give you some kind of reward?

Is there anything I should do before playing the ET? Maybe replay the map?

Out of the loop: Hitman 2016 - present addition

    Posted: 16 Jan 2020 08:45 AM PST

Hi all. I used to love playing this series ALL THE TIME. In grad school I lost the time to catch up for the last few years, but I notice at some point I still bought and downloaded the recent additions, Hitman 1 (2016), and Hitman 2 for Xbox One.

Few questions about storyline and how the games work: 1) does 2 chronologically follow 1? 2) do both of these games get new missions over time or is that done?

    3) I have noticed someone mentioned they hope 3 comes in the form of new missions to download. Is it just me, or are these recent games running on what looks to be the same engine/game mechanics?

    4) where does Hitman 1 (2016) fall within the chronology of the whole series?

    Thanks all.

Edit: even more confusing, now I see when I try to reinstall them (digital copies), looks like Hitman 2 comes with legacy maps of Hitman 1? (And yet hitman 2 just appears as one installable piece, and all those are even less storage than all of Hitman 1). I have no idea what's going on

    Crashing for no reason

    Posted: 16 Jan 2020 06:45 AM PST

I bought the gold edition when it came out. I have 129 hours in game. Just recently the game started to crash to desktop for no reason. It give no errors, it just crashes. This has never happened before.

Crashes are random, sometimes it takes 5min sometimes I could be playing for awhile.

Does anyone know what's going on?
