How about a backgroubd ghost mode opponent search?

    Posted: 18 Jan 2020 12:44 AM PST

Searching for ghost mode opponents currently takes a long time, for me at least. What if you could have the game searching for an opponent while you're playing other parts of the game. When it finds an opponent it gives you a notification which you can deny or accept to go to the lobby. If you're playing a savable level, it should let you save and then go to it. If not, accepting it would stop your playing but denying it would let you keep playing.

Where can you rewatch first try scene?

    Posted: 17 Jan 2020 11:47 PM PST

Not talking about mission briefing. But the first time you try a map, the starting scene is different than when you try it another time.

A look into statistics based on Steam achievements

    Posted: 17 Jan 2020 10:05 AM PST

I'm a statistics nerd and something in the Hitman 2 achievements caught my interest so I did a bit of number crunching to see if Steam's global achievement stats showed anything interesting.

As Hawke's Bay and the ICA facility are free, I decided to ignore them and use the achievement for completing The Finish Line as a baseline I'd compare the other missions to. I figured it was a good way to exclude people who have only played the demo or have picked up the game but haven't properly started it yet. As replayability is a big part of the game I also checked how many people had completed mission stories or maxed out mastery after completing a mission once. Then I also grabbed some stats about escalations and contracts in a similar way.

For example on how to read the chart, 21.9% of people who play Hitman 2 have completed Three-Headed Serpent once, which is 87.6% of the people who completed The Finish Line once. Of the people who completed THS once, 43.4% completed all mission stories and 40.6% reached max mastery. Basically, the interesting numbers are the colored ones, the first colored column values are all compared to The Finish Line's completion percentage, and the values in the other colored columns are compared to the leftmost colored column's value on the same row.

    SPREADSHEET

    Few things I found interesting:

    • The amount of players who complete Hitman 2 campaign missions declines slowly as in case of any other game. The drop before the first paid map, The Bank, is not as severe as I expected but the drop before the second paid map, The Resort, is on the other hand much bigger than I would've thought. Similar trend is noticeable in the Sniper Assassin completions.
    • Even within The Resort the numbers are dropping. Of the people who completed the mission once, only 18% got to max mastery when the same number in The Bank is 68%, highest among all Hitman 2 maps.
    • The decline continues smoothly from The Ark Society to the Hitman 2016 campaign maps, but there's a significant drop when looking at the Hitman 2016 bonus missions. I'm guessing a lot of people don't even realize they exist. People who do get to them however tend to complete all mission stories in them.
    • The relative amount of people who go for a high completion (mastery, mission stories) increases in the later missions in both campaigns. Understandable as the people who are less into the game are more likely to drop off before even getting to the later missions.
    • After completing a mission once, way more people replay the Hitman 2016 maps to max mastery compared to the Hitman 2 maps. Maybe the people who play those maps are bigger fans to begin with, or maybe people in general are more familiar with the old maps and master them more effortlessly.
    • After completing a legacy mission once, only about 16% of people complete an escalation on that map. There is no data on Hitman 2 escalation completions.
    • Within the main campaigns, the only map that has a lower completion percentage than the following map is Freedom Fighters.
    • About 36% of the people have played at least tried featured contract and about 32% of the people stick with the contracts mode for at least 10 contracts, which to me seems like a pretty good rate.

Hitman 2: Looking for some good Contracts to play (PS4)

    Posted: 17 Jan 2020 06:20 PM PST

I need some good, challenging, and popular contracts to play. I did search for them but wasn't sure which ones were good (featured or most played last week, etc...?). Any map is fine. Any recommendations are appreciated. :)
