    Thank you IO for listening

I just started playing Hitman 3 again after a short break and like I always do, I played the flat version first and then went into VR for continuition and follow-up immersion. Good times for sure.

However, one thing that kinda broke immersion for me in this game was the blue grid area that appeared whenever you slighty got out of the devs recommended play zone. Annoying as fuck and ofc, VR mode has other flaws but they are not as much distracting as that grid, especially when you learn how to get around them.

So, first thing I checked when being faced with that immersion-breaking bullshit again was to see if the devs had done something about it. To my surprise- Yes, they did. They even stated that they listened to players feedback and put an option to turn it off although they STRONGLY recommended against it.

Thing is when I watched the 3.11 patch notes on this subreddit at no point did I see anyone mention this change. Instead, everybody was asking for more and more.

Many game companies would not have done a damn thing about it. Let's take the time to give credits to them and appreciate the kind of genuine devs IO are at the core.

Sniper Assassin game mode, the elephant in the room - Accidents.

    Posted: 20 Mar 2021 09:30 AM PDT

When playing the Sniper Assassin levels, I've found that accident kills, are unfortunately, counter intuitive.

While in normal gameplay, accidents are written off as simply that, an accident, and the bodies don't cause an alarm; however, during Sniper Assassin, you can perform elaborate setups for an accident, and the payoff may be that the body is found, and the alarm goes off as if you've shot them normally.

I'm starting to feel that this small difference between Sniper Assassin, and other gameplay logic, really interacts with the mode in a weird way, where the goal seems to be to simply shoot targets into hidden spots, instead of going out of your way to manufacture accidental kills outside of challenges.

That being said, when aiming for those challenges, certain accident based challenges, will sound the alarm due to nearby people finding the bodies, meaning a restart of the level, which is a 15 minute long level, with no saves.

The lack of saving, feeds back into the same issue, of aiming for accidental kills is too risky in comparison to simple headshots & hiding bodies, and it feels like shifting accidents to match normal game logic, may free up some of the negative aspects of Sniper Assassin.
