In spirit of Dartmoor mission - murder mystery board games?

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 09:56 PM PDT

Trying a bit different thread... Dunno if Hitman fans care for boardgames? IMO they can be great fun with friends/family because it's a social thing too.

If you like the "detective murder mystery" theme, here few IMO great boardgames, to get warmed up for Janury:

    Deception: Murder in Hong Kong

Great game, only downside that it requires minimal 4 players and better with five or more. Fits Hitman 3 anticipation, as we likely get a Hong Kong map. Great game of bluffing and deduction. There's different roles to play, Forensic Scientist, Witness, Investigators, Murderer, and Accomplice, who is trying to feed people with disinformation. If you can lie and hold a "poker face" convincingly, it will help you as the Murderer/Accomplice.

    Awkward Guests

    Awkward Guest Official site

A bit "awkward" name.. but it's similar to Clue/Cluedo, except like on steroids. Way harder cases and detective work required, to solve a case. Yet quite simple rules. Many consider it as the best deduction game at the moment, sadly only English/Spanish versions available.

    Letters from Whitechapel

Based on the Jack The Ripper murders, in historical London. One player is Jack The Ripper and rest are the police, trying to catch him. Very nice "horror" themed game, and involves quite bit of tactic.

    Of course the classic, Clue.

Ton of different versions. I haven't tried all of them, but the basic Clue is a bit too simple for our gaming group's taste. It was fun for a long time, but once everyone figures out the perfect tactic to make questions, it becomes a bit predictable. Still good fun.

If anyone can suggest other similar games, I'm always willing to test!

(You can probably find most of these games from Tabletop Simulator, btw.. although I prefer the physical games)

What is one of the most frustrating things you've ever had happen during a mission?

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 10:20 PM PDT

I just had a pretty funny one in Miami - final level of a tough escalation, maintained Silent Assassin status, lots of careful takedowns, draggings, hidings, clever use of coins and discarded weapons / distractions, ugh.

I finally pull it off...! And on my way back, I was so nervous that when I got near the exit I kept my finger over what I assumed was G to get ready to hit Exit Mission... somehow I was over Q (Subdue) without thinking. I started spamming the button and took out a dude in broad daylight, in public, causing a bunch of people to shoot me dead, losing all my progress for that mission right at the end. Sigh.

    47 practices social distancing

Was camping and taking out a bunch of guards at the Isle of Sgail when, at this point in the sequence, some NPC yelled "I think he has a gun!" lmao

did anyone here use the binoculars in blood money?

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 11:40 PM PDT

    Opposite hitman idea.

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 08:16 AM PDT

Ive always had dreams that I am bein hunted by 47 and I thought of this game idea.

YOU ARE THE TARGET. You must do your routine and be very careful when you do stuff if 47 sees you the game will be harder as he knows more. Example, If you drink some coffee, before you do it check your surroundings for 47.

No idea how this would work but I always thought of this.

This isnt a real suggestion I just want peoples opinions on what this would be like and if they would buy a game like this.

Do you think they will release some playable content for pre-orders?

    Posted: 25 Aug 2020 07:56 PM PDT

I can't remember if Hitman 2016 did, but Absolution and Hitman 2 (2018) had playable sniper maps for pre-orders.

Do you think IoI will do some playable content for pre-orders?
